Is there a point?

So I'm working on a deck, that should be really good. Thing is, I play fnm maybe once a month or so, (I'm thinkin about going as much as i used to but I'm not sure yet). But should I bother getting high dollar cards or even playing anymore if I literally only play tabletop once a week if that, and go to tourneys less than that?
I enjoy magic, as of lately it's been the only hobby I have, but I've been contemplating on just kinda giving up because I haven't been able to play competitively at all. Any advice?

Well, I'd have to say that's a very personal choice.  If you don't feel you're getting value for your entertainment than you can make that choice.

For me, though, I get to play maybe twice a month.  Sometimes I don't get to play for 5-6 weeks.  But I still love this game.  I have fun looking at the latest cards, building deck ideas, talking about magic with the good folks here.  I play on Steam and PS3 when possible.  I also like collecting cards too.  It sucks not to get to play the game as much as I'd like, but MtG is more than that.

Then again, I'm one of those weirdos that can easily spend an entire day just sorting my collection and looking through cards. 

I will also say that the only competitive playing I do is at prereleases, once every three months. 

However you want to roll, but just know that there are lots of ways to enjoy MtG, it doesn't have to be about competition.  YMMV

Very select games on the ps3 and vita. That's the closest to multi-platform gaming. That I know of. And I heard about one game during the last E3.
