Your playing a discard deck, and your opponent doesn't have any cards in his hand.

That's what {wistful thinking} is for. 😃 and {sign in blood}

Silent1236

You're running mill and your opponent plays {Elixir of Immortality} on T1 

If you are using wishfull thinking to make them discard then why not mill them for 7 with {Mind Sculpt} for 1 less mana lol

{megrim} that's why. Lol. It's not a mill deck. It's a discard deck. Unfortunately people wise up and decide to play everything in their hand and not wait. But I force them to draw and then discard.

^^^ {Liliana's Caress} and they play {Wheel and Deal}.

I have the caress but OOOO I need that new toy for my deck. I use {jaces archivist} for fun times.

BlackJester

It's in a multiplayer deck I face on a regular basis.

I know I'm screwed when he plays {Memory Jar}. 😓

More info please. I don't see the point in memory jar.

BlackJester

Imagine you have {Underworld Dreams}, {Megrim}, {Liliana's Caress}, and a {Memory Jar} on the table. You crack the jar, and everyone draws 7 cards (all opponents take 7 damage) you get a new hand, cast your stuff. Then at the end of your turn, everyone discards their seven cards and they take another 28 damage.

Haha exactly the reason why I like the archivist and {wistful thinking}. 2 underworld dreams and two megrim.
"I'm gunna help you out. Draw two discard four. GG".

Is that the only use of jar?  Not saying don't like this, I'm going to modify my discard deck after pay day with it. But if that's the only thing people are using it for...

BlackJester

It's powerful enough to be restricted in Vintage and Banned in Legacy.

Once it's on the table, you are (for zero mana) getting a full hand on your turn. Play everything you can, and then when it's your opponent's turn everything goes back and you've just milled your enemy for 7.

Back in the day, it was I was playing mono black and my opponent would play {karma}.  I hated that!
