Intrepid hero?

Hey guys I have a G/W human deck using {descendant's path} and was thinking about {intrepid hero}. I had an idea he could be pretty useful, especially with {rancor}. Was just hoping for input before I look for a playset, they are surprisingly hard to find near me.

The idea was to rancor their creature then use intrepid hero to off it. I've never tried it and I had the idea last week but my inlaws were visiting for 10 days do I haven't gotten to play any magic. is it terrible tech to try to rancor their creatures and use the hero for recyclable removal?

This is now a thing I wanna do, totally off-the-wall, but super cool (IMO)

Use {Briarpack Alpha} to make their creatures bigger also.
