People often take pictures of the trades to document it. Ill check online later for a documented process.

I'd like to see how many and which cards are involved in an example of that process actually working.

I assume that the chain of trades is always 1 card for one card?

I think how you do it is more or less up to you. I met a guy at a PTQ a few weeks ago who had a whole binder of trades for pack to power that was separate from his actual trade binder. The binder the cards were all in was thrown in as part of one of his trades.

I have a beat-to-hell beta  {Mox Jet}
That's still pretty impressive. If I would get and I'd get the green mox, just because I mainly play green decks. How and when did you get it?

I got it in 97 for 120. At the time, I had a chance to get all the Power 9 for $1500. I wish I had now. But back then, 1500 was a lot of money for a 16 year old... Like 4 months of paychecks...

Oooh, thats nice. That would have been an awesome investment, but yea the cash would be a little hard to get at that age. Thats still a pretty sweet find.

People who do pack to power usually rely on people helping them in trades. So many kids at the LGS tried doing it, eventually I just stopped trading over value with them. They don't realize the type of work that goes into it.

I know that packs to power are ridiculously long and hard to pull of but I am thinking of doing a pack to fetchland or pack to original dual.

I have two fairly unbelievable mtg stories. They both happened to local friends of mine so they're second hand accounts. Nonetheless, the first is a power nine tale:

I play magic with one person, Matt, who bought me my second starter. My uncle bought me a revised starter in 95 but my mom threw it out so it wasn't until Lorwyn that I started playing. One day Matt and I were trying to one-up each other with a "my card is better" contest. After some back & forth comparisons he ran downstairs and brought up a plastic case. Inside is THE {black lotus}.

Back in 97 Digital Heroes, our local nerd store here in walla walla, closed down and put its entire stock of tcgs on clearance at something like 70% off. Matt called down and asked if the lotus was on sale. The owner said it was but someone else had called about it already and whoever came downtown first could buy it. Matt got his mom to drive him down and get his money out if the bank. Mom vehemently argued against him spending his entire summer's earnings on a piece of cardboard but he was determined. They got to the store and there it was, in the case, marked down to a hefty $170.

16 years later there I sit in stunned disbelief. The best part? His card has strangely rounded corners (and in very good condition I might add). My {elspeth knight errant} was good but I grudgingly conceded the  "my card is better" contest that day.

"Strangely rounded corners" might be Alpha.

Silent1236

Strangely rounded corners?  Nice.

Someday I'll own the lotus, for now I'm content with my current collection and listening to these stories :)

The LGS here has a  {Timetwister} and a  {Time Walk} up on display in a hard plastic frame with nine slots, can't remember how they acquired them tho

Holy crap, alpha black lotus?!
