This will sound moronic but need some xbox360 help

Anyone have an Xbox 360? Ok here is the deal, I got mine 4 years ago. I haven't worked nor had $ since due to my physical issues. Now I've won disability and have a little bit of money. I can finally hook my 360 to the Internet. I bought an Ethernet cord, but idk what else to do. Plug it in? Buy a Live card and somehow activate it?

Excited because I can finally get a lot of free DLC like my death rides pack for darksiders 2 and heck, even stuff for fable and fable 2, but just not sure how to go about this and don't wanna screw my Xbox up

You need to setup an XBox live account by buying one of the live cards. Once done you can then buy XBox points cards to buy any downloadable content. Setting up the account should be explained on the live card somewhere.
Since your XBox is an older model it will not have a built in Wifi card so physical ethernet cable is your opinion there.
If you want wireless you have to buy the wireless N controller card.youwillneed to make sure your connection is functional for the XBox live account setup.

Get a Xbox live subscription off amazon. Almost half off the regular price and they have year memberships.

Just plug your Ethernet cord in and set up your profile and you're good to go. You'll have to download a ton of updates though so prepare for that. Don't hack it or do anything illegal cuz then you wont be able to go online. And you'll waste your money. But yes. Have fun!
