Calgori

Today is a sad day for my local gaming group.... Due to a dispute between lifelong friends, I have come into possession of some 800+ cards. I'll keep updated on what I find.

- That's a shame. It stinks to break up a playgroup.

- Back to favorite sets/best sets. Everyone says Urza is best, because so many of the cards were banned and OP. I'll maintain that Tempest is the best set, strictly on art and the "feel" (the intangibles) of having new cards unlike anything before them.

Calgori

I think personally my favorite set was either Time Spiral or Ravnica.

I think it really depends on what you feel is "best".  (-Capt. Obvious strikes again)

Lots of people like power (or OP), some people like flavor, or synergy, or splashy stuff.  I don't know if Tempest is as good looking back as it would have been going through it as it came.  I think a lot of people tend to be pretty partial to the first set they started with.  For me, I loved the scale and scope of Ravnica block.  Ten guilds, each with their own vibe.  I'm stoked to go back.

Nah, I meant the poodle mailman lol. I knew about Kezzerdrix.

Yay for double posting!

Is anyone else really tired of the Innistrad block?  I'm definitely ready for some new stuff.  I wasn't playing MtG in Ravnica days, but I've heard nothing bad about it.  I'm kinda looking forward to RtR.  Mostly just to be able to stop hearing about zombies/angels/snapcasters/delvers.

Tl:dr. Innistrad = 

Dudecore

I loved Innistrad, especially draft and flavor. Dark Ascension was cool, I liked the fact the set wasn't as large, and you had a great chance of drafting a card that was good for you. Avacyn was like...really bizarre. I didn't like the power level, I did like how card colors went back to very basic principles, but black was weak. Blue was costly, red had burn, white had life gain, ect.

M13 was weak sauce.

Bring on RtR!!!

Silent1236

I honestly liked M13, mostly because it brought back {Vampire Nocturnus} (easily my favorite card) and {Akroma's Memorial}. Outside of them, I agree.  There wasn't much about M13 to be desired.

Thorn

Saw a guy at my LGS who wanted to get into magic. So I said, "Ok" and pointed him  to the m13 {G}{W} event deck.

Yay for Thragtusk, Razorvege Thicket and Blade Splicer!

Coffee Vampire

I remember when I got my first event deck...I was ready to take it to FNM.

"your deck has been illegal for 6 weeks" -my friend who told me which event deck to get
