Notes:
The Low price is at around $147. Average around $202. Very capable Merfolk deck.

Upgrades: {Mutavault}, {Force of Will}, {Wasteland}

Dudecore

Toss up between {Tectonic Edge} or {Ghost Quarter}. That'll be up to the user, give em a land, or not to give them a land? {Wasteland} solves the problem, it's also a $40 uncommon.

Pretty amazing what deck you can get done for $150. Granted, an additional $300 is needed to really finish it.

What would happen if this deck played
A standard delver

The delver deck would get crapped on.

Dudecore

It should out race Delver. Lack of fliers is a concern, but it just puts more power onto the board, it's never a problem.

That is a good point about Delver.  I like {coralhelm commander} and his flying plus the other lords will make him a formidable flyer that will make Delver a non-issue.  Your biggest threat is the early game Delver supported by counters and removal.  Legacy "Delver BUG" or "RUG Delver" would give this deck fits but then again you are talking $2000-$3000 decks.

Dudecore

Delver runs Islands. Islandwalk puts all the damage through anyway. It can't race fast enough to last.

Good point.  I keep meaning to build a fish deck.  I have all these cept most of the fish.

Dudecore

The only problem is {Bonfire of the Damned}, which is a problem for every deck. But it's got enough disruption to handle it. Other aggro decks can beat it, but nothing else in legacy really has enough consistent power. 16 lords nearly 1/3rd of the deck. {AEther Vial} to put them onto the field without casting em. I love it.

I could write a book about how cool Merfolk are, and they're {U}, my favorite color.

My actual Merfolk deck is {U}{W}. But I've seen {U}{B} dreadfolk

Thorn

Ive seen {U}{R} burnfolk.
Seriously.

Thanks a lot Dudecore!

I'm working on a build for multiplayer based on what I have on hand.  I want to put in {Talrand, Sky Summoner} and some more spells.  Luckily, he works with {Isochron Sceptor}.  >:D

Yeah, you could sub Kira for Talrand, would give you enough chumpers and flying coverage. There is enough room to play around.

Eventually you can trade your {Bonfire of the Damned} for {Force of Will} straight up.

BlackJester

Yeah, I'm trying to think in terms of multiplayer.  Slap down some 'folk till I can get Tarland active.

I was thinking of a single {Stormtide Leviathan} to shut everyone down and then lay the beats with drakes.  Might be looking like a different deck though....

Dudecore

Hey, 8 turns in and {AEther Vial}, you can cast him for free, uncounterable and have lands open sling some spells.
