I snagged a {tamiyo the moon sage} just today. I'm pretty sure it was the most expensive card I've bought at 14 bucks. I spent my cash on  a single piece of cardboard. Cringe.

Good cal Jesterl! I feel better. The cardboard is much sturdier than composite fabric and the paint job vastly more colorful. And don't get me started on the health issues. Cardboard slips are far more sanitary. I'm going to trade all my composite fabric for cardboard

Same here. With FNM costs, variety packs of all 4 sets (5 intro packs, fat pack, booster box), sleeves, EDH and my irrational spending on Legacy...I spend probably $3000-$4000 a year on MtG alone.

Last year I spent probably $7,000...so I'm on pace this year (before RtR) to spend about the same...

Well it's in-line with what people my age spend on going to clubs and concerts (and drugs, and clothes, and cars). I just shifted my "fun money" into magic. My girlfriend is an unwilling participant.

LMAO that is what I am going to start calling my wife.....unwilling participant.  I am an unwilling participant for all her spending .... like who needs a $400 blender?  Well actually I like that blender cuz it makes some killer miller milk shakes <insert bring boys to the yard joke here>

Must be a Kitchen Aid. My wife has one in pink that cost $400 and he hasn't used it once. And she gripes at me for buying Magic cards....

To stay on topic, I haven't bought any singles. I just buy boosters and trade for what I need.
