Yeah, but what are you REALLY getting?  {1}{U}{U} or {2}{W}: put a 1/2 onto the Battlefield.  Underwhelming, but funny!

Remember, {Safe Passage} has the added bonus of preventing damage coming at you, not just your creatures.

True, but indestructibility protects your creatures from destroy effects instead of just damage. You'd be able to use this to stop doom blades, board wipes (your side only - opponents will still die), etc...
