I don't think you can since it has the swamp symbol in it.

Your rite, you would have to use a diff general with black in the mana cost as well to use the elf, or not use it at all.

As mentioned above, you can't use cards which exhibit color symbols different from your commander's anywhere on them. You can use cards which spell the word of the color though, like a fetchland or one of the Alara heralds, like "red" or "white".
