Destroying the Reserve List.

What is everyone's opinion abou removing the reserve list?

I am with it for a few reasons:

1) it opens up the extended format to more people.

2) the original dual lands are the only lands that really work well. Dual lands give you the option of splashing more colors, they only produce 1 mana. Shock lands work too, but give you a slight penalty for splashing. Why?

3) Those cards are fun, and hinder a lot of creative people from designing decks for competition because prices are so high.

4) Power 9 is still rediculous.

Against. Let's not devalue those cards on that list. My original M10 duel lands are now basically worthless with all the reprints.

Well is magic about money, or playing the game? I don't think players would be against it, at least not ones I've talked to. Most people in my playgroup, including me, have multiple reserve list cards. But we're players.

The origin of the topic started with one of the members in my group. He's pretty brilliant, he's highly skilled, and has a high aptitude for Magic. He's one of the guys that can really use your deck against you better then you could. Enough about his ability. I just think that if he had some of those cards in his hand, he'd be able to do some pretty interesting things.

Being a Trading Card Game, for some people its about the collecting aspect. Part of what makes cards awesome is their inobtainability.

I'm just parroting WotC themselves.  They had reprinted (in a Premium Series) a few cards from the list. The backlash from the community (the people who play) was enough for WotC to issue a revision to the policy here:

Freaking awesome love it when my post gets cut in half.
The reason MtG is successful is because of the limited reprints. People want their cards to be worth something.
You have pay to play in MtG sorry to burst your bubble.
If you can't support your hobby maybe you need to pick a different hobby.

Personally, I would love to see some cards remade, (can you say foil {Black Lotus} anyone? 🌟
But not at the cost of the integrity of the game.

Man, I totally wish they found another loophole. Too bad they closed that one up. :/

I'm in favor of keeping the Reserved List. Companies sticking to their word is a rarity, and I love how Wizards has the integrity to do that.

I think it should work like a reverse ban list... RePrint cards on the reserve that are good but not meta altering.

They have means of printing cards that aren't used in Standard. The reprint policy holds even for Planechase, Commander, etc.

Wizards makes $0 from people selling and trading $3000 P9 cards, but imagine how much cash they could make if they sold "From the Vault: Power 9". 😜

I think people like knowing that even if they quit magic or something, they will be able to get a lot of the money invested back, because their cards are still worth money even after a long time. You can't have that kind of trust with everything.
