Door to nothingness

Has anyone been able to use this card yet in a tournement legal deck?   I pulled one yesterday in a draft desired to keep it just for fun.

I haven't seen any composite golem or doubling cubes in this series and dOnt believe hey would be legal at this point.  What other oprions do I have?

{Door to Nothingness} is a... Quirky card. It won't be of much use to you in competitive tournament play, as much as I can tell. It's main appeal is for Commander and other multiplayer formats, where getting that much mana is at least feasible. It is also a glorious Type 4 card.

To play it, you're gonna need lots of mana sources. I can't think of any way to reduce the activation cost, though there are lots of ways to get rid of the {5} casting cost and even make it come in untapped. The white "Bringer" comes to mind, but I forget it's full name (can someone link it for me?) {amulet of vigor} is good with it, as is Tezzeret (either version, really). And blue has a bajillion artifact aides to help.

I have a feeling that this card is going to get substantially better come Return to Ravnica. What with all the multicolor and mana fixing there'll be.

Substantially better than it is is still a long way to go to being competitive though. 😁
