Deck Building confusion

I had a quick question about what sets are allowed in Standard play.  I've been collecting cards for only about a year or two and played casually with friends but was wondering as far as Standard play what is allowed in a deck?  I've had mixed responses and wanted to confirm as of now with the 2013 Core set being out what other sets are allowed.  Thanks for the help!

Thanks but what happens after October 5th?  Those sets are dropped and then you're limited to a lot less?  Sorry for the noob questions.

Standard will only include (after October release) the Innistrad block which includes Innistrad, Dark Ascension, Avacyn Restored and M13

Hmm.  See that's where I'm confused...  That link says after October 5th its only M13 and Return to Ravnica but as you guys stated it's also includes the Innistrad block...

No, Its saying that M13 and RTR are legal after October 5. That is not the whole legal list.

Innistrad up to return to ravnica..including m13. M12 and scars of mirrodin will no longer be playable when RTR drops.

Also it's ok to play older cards that are reprinted in the current standard format cards, I've had that discussion with someone before, lol.
