Seems like a fairly decent card, but i dont think its worthy of mythic status just because it dies to shock, dusmember, incinerate, even dead weight. Itd probly be just a rare

That's why you flash it, it becomes the target, then return it to your hard. Spell would fizzle. Very powerful, would probably have to up its mana cost cost or itd be too good, but I could definitely see it being a real card that sees real play.

I was trying to create a card that seemed actually real and playable.
(guess I did just that)
;D

Yeah I agree with the cost. It'd have to be somethig like {U}{U}{U}  return to hand.

Basically something to keep it away from bein in EVERY deck that's a little blue.

You think its that good people would play it  (even splash it) in competetive decks?

Willthomjr

I don't see why not? It's got flash and can fizzle spells at a relatively low cost in its current form. Tricky cards like that always find places in competitive decks.

Nobbert

Yeah that's actually a card I'd like to see printed

Would be nice but way overpowered for its mana cost. It's essentially a {cancel} AND {stifle} for single target spells/abilities for {U} with buyback {2}. Considering {Swerve} exists as a single-target changer for {U}{R}, and buyback spells tend to buyback for {3}, you could say a more realistic cost would total around 5 mana instead of 3. So maybe a drop cost of {1}{U}{U}, return to hand for {2} or to force it heavy blue maybe {1}{U}? I could maybe see them printing that, and I bet it would still see some play.

Also, this just struck me as funny, but this conversation... How often do you think R&D actually dissects and discusses a potential new card like this? And how often do they fail it look at it well enough? :P They should hire us.

BlackJester

It only works for spells and abilities that can target a creature though. {Stiffle} can squash a PW's ultimate.

Still, very high on the power scale.

BlackJester

You can almost do this with {Leyline of Anicipation} or similar and {Spellskite}. The only missing ingredient is a repeatable bounce effect.

I still like {Mystic Snake} though.
