It is always good to be {annul} about your cards facing the same way. Besides the possibility of being called on it, it may present problems for you personally. For instance, say 2 cards out of 5 in your hand are upside-down. You could drop a card and reveal it by accident while trying to fix this.

Have fun at your first FNM!

Thanks coffee
Also who would like me to post how I did and what I played against?

Yeah man have a great time. I did my first FNM 2 weeks ago and had a blast. The format was extended. Tomorrow they are having the pre-release for M13. I am not sure how they get away with that... So tomorrow it will be a draft. I am excited.

One thing I will say is that I could not believe how many people did not know the rules. I had a guy play a silverblade paladin (only creature on the board so no soulbond) tell me that it automatically has double strike. Another guy attempted to cast a sorcery on my turn and another guy attempt to equip a sword to one of his creatures during my turn...

Your store drafts for pre releases? That SuCkS!  Most are sealed tourneys.

Tumalc

Just this Friday is a draft from what they said. Saturday is the sealed.

Thorn

Well also...
What should I bring aside from my main deck? Should I bring cards to trade or another deck to play with in between rounds?

Rass

If you want to trade cards sure but only do it when you can keep an eye on your binder and don't bring too many cards you can't keep an eye on. As for other decks there usually isn't enought time between rounds.

My LGS does both. I often play the first two rounds, lose, drop from Sealed, then Draft.

The old shop I loved to play at did both. Sealed starting kinda early and then draft at some where between 9-11.

It takes a lot of up front money to have enough packs for a sealed event, plus prize support, plus retail. Its hard for a most stores to consitantly and comfortably front that much money.

They're not fronting any money. Charging 25$ for the entry fee pays for the boosters.

Kaleo42

They have to purchase the boosters beforehand and hope that enough people buy/ draft those packs to pay for their purchase in tine for the bills.
