Can you regenerate a creature to keep it alive from a sacrifice effect?

Rule # 701.12

Basically Regenerate only works if the creature is damaged (see wording for {Shock}) or destroyed (see wording for {Doom Blade}). Sacrificing is neither of those two conditions.
