I finally did my first FNM! It was really fun and I got to meet some...interesting people lol.

First round lost to delver with 0 wins. Almost had him the second game but he managed to pull something out of his butt for the win. So good for him I guess.

Second round I won 2/0 against a human deck minus the human staples. I felt no pride beating this, but didn't feel the need to hold back either. First game I won with 41 life due to elspeth. Second game I won with 3 planeswalkers out, 2 sorin emblems, sigarda equipped with body and mind, and a whole lot of tokens.

Third round I faced more humans, except it was a better human deck. Still destroyed it though with 2/0 wins. Basically I just O-Ringed whatever he got out and just kept beating him down to the ground.

Fourth round I faced a W/U/b spirit deck. I got good hands both games but was so busy defending against buffed up flier tokens that I couldn't even cast my bombs. In the last game I had a 5 mana out by turn 3 and a vorapede and a sorin. By the end of the game I also had an unused sigarda in hand. So sad...but that guy was good. I feel no shame with the zero wins.

Fifth round I played against a pod deck. Both of us had the same thing going on: mana dorks ramp ramp ramp! His deck, however, was simply better equipped than mine. He just exiled all but one of the 4 mana dorkies I had out. I could only tane out one of his. Missing a land drop didn't help. I never saw a pod which was funny, but he didn't need one. Again I feel no shame because I know this guy...he is my friend. And I know he invested more in his deck than I did. And he is just a better player than me.

So yeah I won 2 matches and lost 3. I can't wait to go to next FNM after improving my deck a bit!

As opposed to scooping at that point? yeah I could see that. once two planeswalkers are out you're already on the backfoot.

Yeah it was sorin, elspeth, and garruk primal. The first sorin died because I used up his loyalty.

The guy wasn't too good. He thought that if his 2/1 blocked my 1/1, his creature lived. I had to tell him about first strike...lol and yes he did not scoop. No idea why. I just kept gaining life with elspeth until I was bored.

The deck I was playing is a G/W/b deck with plainswalkers and big creatures like vorapede. I also have some doomed travelers that I can use {Beast Within} on if I have nothing better to do. I have tokens too (4 lingeries).

I am putting in some lambhold champs and a couple somberwalds. Also another vorapede (I only had 1).

An elesh would help in my deck but I have none. Same with gideon.

Yeah...on {Doomed Traveller} it actually gives you an advantage.

I've used it on my own land sometimes.  I liked it on {Ichor Wellspring}
