I dream today of an Unseries plane... Discworld. Ankhmorpork, the Counterweight Continent, the Wastelands...
Mythic rare {Lord Vetinari}, Legendary Human Patrician, rare {Samuel Vimes, Captain of the watch}
A flip-card why not? {Sergeant Angua}, Watch-woman/werewolf.
Unseen university, {Rincewind, failed wizard}
The Librarian, creature type - Orangutan.

I would kill for this to be a real series. Any other Terry Pratchett fans here? I'd love to here ideas for cards, or existing cards to compare to. I'm going to start a deck of existing cards to represent them, my first being {Reckless Waif} = Angua.

Let's hear some Discworld love, if you guys are in here!

Dude...all I got from this post was "disco" and "world". But that's good enough for me! Follow your dream kid! :D

Discworld is a series of books by Terry Pratchett, they're the best scifi dark British humor ever IMO. Check out anyone of his books, they're not terribly long reads. I promise it's amazing.

I'll be pretty surprised if no one here is a little bit of a Discworld fan.. I thought for sure I'd have a few fellow readers!

BlackJester

I'm familiar with Discworld in name alone.  Sorry.

Johng4490

Oh no apology necessary. Maybe my word here will encourage some people to read them. ;)

BlackJester

I've heard good things. My reading list is long enough already. 📖

Johng4490

I hear that. I have two new Discworld novels I need to read. A stack of of classic Russian science fiction. I just got a hardback complete set of E. A. Poe stories. And so on..

Leviathan

If it were a Night Angel Trilogy deck I could totally chime in lol.

Something I haven't read! I'll have to put it on my todo list.

LOVE Poe!  Pit and pendulum, Tell-tale Heart, Raven!

"Thank heavens the crisis,
The danger is past
The lingering illness
Is over at last
The fever called living
Is conquered at last"

Sorry... I had a moment there... 😔

Eh, I started this thread so I declare we can talk about anything.

I rarely find myself amused by a recitation of Poe, but Vincent Price made me smirk when he voiced it at the beginning of "The Raven," the old 50s movie.

Coffee Vampire

I'll have to read disc world now. But currently I am reading a book called "Blindness". In this book, people can catch blindness like a pandemic.

While we are talking about books, has anyone here read "The Silmarilion"?

It has been years, but yes. It didn't hold attention like most of Tolkien's work.

While we are talking about Tolkien, is anyone here friggin excited for "The Hobbit"?
