I'm. If you go on the website version of the forums. It says right over your name. It depends on your total amount of posts.

There are threads like that for a reason.
And that is so people don't spam other, more serious threads.  In my opinion it's for the people who want to let it out and have some fun saying whatever they want.

Of course it's possible, but without rules in place about there being a limit on who can give karma or not, it doesn't matter.

I agree it may not be the best way, but it's an idea, and that's what we need. Ideas.

As for my idea. I believe bj or someone should appoint a few more mods, to keep order and clean up some of the more messy threads. That way the spam isn't recognized as much. Which, in turn, would lessen the load on all the mods making the forum run more smoothly.

I also believe that there could be more strict guidelines. Such as, if you're consistently spamming. Let's say to boost your post count. You could be muted for a duration of time. Sure, the forum may lose some members, but who wants trolls in here? The ones that do this are the more "crafty" trolls who subtly spam and no one even notices.

Yes it upgrades your status after a certain amount of post but you get hero member after your first positive karma and if just hero members can give karma then it wouldn't be as exploitable.
