I've recently revisited my Krenko deck as well.
I had this mega-janky combo in, turning Krenko into an artifact, then tapping him for 3+ goblins, sacrificing 2 to {skirk prospector} then untapping with  {Voltaic Construct}.
Fun in theory, but too much pieces to ever get it to work. Decided to go for some card draw and ramp instead.

You can grab some of the good land destruction lands and the cycle lands instead of the basics. Either then that it looks similar to my list

Digging through my nonbasics I found {ghost quarter},  {Encroaching Wastes} and the cycle-land. Decided to add them over some spot-removal, raising my land count to 36.

You might not need to increase the land count much due to goblins being such a low curve deck. That's up to you

True, but if due to luck or something else I was having trouble getting to 4, so it seems good to increase lands. That said I could really use {sword of the animist}. That's awesome ramp for goblins, and doesn't fully shut me down if I put down {aggressive mining}.

 {Drownyard Temple} seems pretty good with  {Aggressive Mining}.

That is a great and nasty combo, there. I think I actually have a temple in my prerelease pack. (Still have it as a package, since me and my wife both cracked one, then didn't build decks yet, since tired.)
