They simply do not understand that 2 + 2 = 4 and are falling for a conman who claims he thinks it is possible for 2 + 2 = 5. This trick only works in the reality created for them by the conman in their brains only. In our common shared reality 2 + 2 = 4.

The same applies to Socialists like {Bernie Sanders}.

It is not such a concrete thing as 2 + 2 = 4. It's more like say, the square root of -4. It must exist, according to some equations in advanced physics (I believe it has something to do with quadratic formulas that simplify into the sum of squares. I don't quite remember.), but there are still those that claim it does not exist, and being as an actual value hasn't been found, and a formula where it doesn't work not being found either, neither party is currently right or wrong.

The essence of this is that you are extremely condescending and rude about a group of people that simply don't agree with you about something that has yet to be made black and white. Again I say, if you're so certain save some people time and money and prove them wrong. Their intentions are not to "poison minds" and waste money.

As for the socialists. They simply have an ideal world that has failed to work in reality so far. That doesn't make people like Bernie conmen or idiots. He believes it could work. It's not like  capitalism isn't a flawed system. It's simply the best in practice so far.

As an economist I would like to wieght in on this talk about socialism.

What is it.
Socialism is a set of both social and economic ideals, where as capitalism is just a economic ideal. Socialism focus is on every member doing their specific part. All goods and services produced are owned by the society(government) which is then rationed out to each member of the society. Because each person does their part everyone prospers as the society grows.

Issues in pactice.
The reason it fails in pactice is because it fails to take into consideration of one key variable, humans nature. all socialist societies have tried to use humans as the primary member of it's society. The issue with this is humans want to be rewarded for their work, specficly if they work more they want to get a bigger reward. This leads to issues when it comes to reciving their ration for goods from society. A doctor must take time to learn their craft and the job can be stressful. He gets home to his basic 1000 foot home, with the basic necessities. His neighbor is a janitor, With the same home and necessities, who did not need schooling and has a far easier job in the eyes of the doctor. The doctor will become dissatisfied after a time.

Doctors options.
1. Stop working- doctor, is forced to go back to work. Either to get "paid" so he can eat, or authories force him back to work.
2. Leave to a non social state where he will be better rewarded for his work.
3. (Change job)- society needs doctors not more janitors, and if it needs to more it is far easier to train and new janitor, society is not going to permit the change and lost that time schooling him.
4. (Do poor job) - risk punishment by socitiy for poor work(adds more stress)


Other issues.
Because society must choose how to ration goods, someone is put into the role, this person is once again human. unlike the doctor for their jobs is rationing if they think they deserve more they can choose to ration more goods to themself, they can also trade favors to people by offering to increase that persons ration. (North korean upper soceity for an example of how this can grow out of control)


For socialism to work you need a socity of people who all care about the society more then they do about themself. Establishing this ideal for everyone in it is next to impossible, humans by nature are selfish creatures at their heart.

Could it work?
It already has, just not with humans. It has worked for insects, specficly hive oriented ones like ants or bees. Each ant or bee works for the society and not themself.

I'm actually taking social and am well aware of what socialism is. My course would argue that you're talking about communism whereas socialism is about economic, political and social equality. However I think you did a solid job. Especially the bottom line. The problem is not the concept, but human nature.

This is where I disagree. It works just not many folds past your family. Let's look at the basic ideal family. Two parents and three kids. You have one parent who is the bread winner one parent who has supplemental income sometimes no income and three kids who add no economical value to the family. So the bread winner redistributes their wealth among the family. Yes not everyone gets even shares but it is a redistribution of wealth.


That's how I see it. People will sacrifice for their family but not for others. Is that more a social or free market system.
