yea, happens to me last month with {Thought-Knot Seer} got killed by {Murderous Cut} and i exiled nothing because thats his last card, also sad night for me that time

Correct. This is why {eldrazi displacer} targeting your own {thought-knot seer} is super gross. Since no triggers go on the stack until the ability resolves fully, you can stack the leaves the battlefield ability to resolve before the enters the battlefield ability and they will draw before having to discard. They will get priority and can cast {murderous cut} or something.
