Restoring from Dropbox

After the update, my entire collection was lost in the app. It also created a new backup in Dropbox automatically that was empty.

I deleted the new backup and attempted to restore from one I made a week ago, but it seems to have just frozen. The moving icon with Restoring Collection is on the bottom, but it's been doing that for about 45 minutes without any change.

I got it to work by deleting the app then reinstalling.

I do have another question. Is there a way to set the sorting option for Database, My Precious, and Needed permanently? There used to be an option in the settings, but I don't see it in the new update. When I change it from within the folders, it doesn't remain when I exit the folder.

Do NOT follow this advice or you will delete your local device backups in the process.

If you are having issues with Dropbox, unlink and re-link by shaking your device in Main Menu -> Settings & Tools -> Tools.

Yes sorting is not remembered properly in 5.6.12, we will fix this.

I don't think it did. It does automatically backup to device, but not to Dropbox.

It did. It happened on both my iPad and my iPhone. i was very certain not to create a backup on the second device after the upgrade in order to test your hypothesis. However, after both updates a blank/empty collection backup was created in my iMtG Dropbox folder.

I also tried delinking and re-linking my Dropbox before I reinstalled the app. It didn't work for me.

I was also wondering if the quantity no longer appearing in the main screen of My Precious and Needed was a permanent change. It was very helpful having that information without needing to go into the actual card page, especially in the Needed binder.

I appreciate the response and all the work you do on the app. The update process is always a difficult one since it's impossible to create a perfect program. IMtG is the best app I've found on the iPhone.

If it did, your Phone has AI that is not under your control, as there is no code path in iMtG that touches Dropbox during the upgrade process.
