To be clear on this, in the situation above you would gain 3 and they would lose 6. The vamp does no make you gain life.

What often helps me solve these sort of things is take them step-by-step. What happens?
- 3 {kalastria healer}s on the field.
- you cast {cliff haven vampire}.
- vampire resolves, enters the battlefield
- healers trigger: 3x(gain 1, opponent loses 1)
- as the vampire is on the battlefield at that point, it triggers off the gain, opponent loses 3x1 more.
After that, any ally that enters follows the same sequence.
