I disagree.
It's like standard vs legacy. If a console rotates out, you need to buy a whole new one. A proper gaming rig can be updated once it starts underperforming.

PCs are better. There are more games, more and better mods, better specs in all areas (for the right price), and near 100% backwards compatibility with upgradability. That being said they're way more expensive and if you're not going to use the perks then it's not worth the money.

I have no friends so I didn't consider it. Very true.

Nowadays, we usually grab Magic or a board game. While a student, I had the kind of friends who would hang out over LAN.

You know those guys? Those guys that spend their whole life running away from responsibility. I get so ticked off when one of those tells someone who actually fights for what they value, to drop it and run, because that'd be better.
Bunch of no-good hippie cheesecakes..

I wrote an essay on that. My conclusion was live and et live. Their lifestyle is their lifestyle, it's not "running from responsibility" it's a firm belief that those responsibilities are manufactured and unnecessary. Obviously you disagree (as do I, but that's another essay). There's nothing wrong with a disagreement in opinion, however when people start pressing their opinions on others there's a problem.

My latest 'upgradeable' gaming rig is Mac Pro. Bloody Apple never released SDD upgrade for this thing :P

In the PC world, when I wanted upgrade I had to swap the motherboard anyway for the bandwidth, so it forced upgrade of the whole system really. Turned out that the only semi-stable thing in the 'upgradeable' PC rig was bare tower without PSU.
