Not a fan at all of the new lands. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Sorta like pokemon adding fairy types.

i guess you'll probably deal with them like snow lands.. they probably tap for a colorless, but if your cost needs one of those symbols then you gotta use that specific type of mana

Two conspiracy theories:

Wastes is being printed solely to laugh when people have to play evolving wilds to fetch it in standard.

OGW is totally colorless.  They did the opposite with Alara Reborn, so why not?

Think of the limited format.

Think of the children.

I wonder if we will get "Wasted Duals"?

Something like
Wasted Isle
Basic Land - island
Comes into play untapped if you control another island

{T} add {U} or (💢) to your mana pool

It's going to suck for limited when shops will run out of the colorless lands.... They are full arts like the rest so people will want to collect them. Cool flavor idea but bad logistics idea. Also if they made an official 6th color that means there will be lots more eldrazi and possibly outside of zendikar

MuggyWuggy

Maybe if this became a new permanent thing for magic buts it's only gonna be featured in the last set of the block. Kinda stupid imo

Pokemon style: tap land for diamond....

My guess is that shops will have to get land stations with just this land for prerelease.
Also  I can see this is the only "basic" land in the set.  So then every pack will have one.

3rd...  If this is the only "basic" land.   Fatpacks have 80 of them or min of 20. Sell out again?!?!?
Look at the holiday boxes.  Bfz lands, but not full art. Only place to get them.

If they use the only basic land in the set printing that might work. Also the fatpacks would sell out again I can see it now.

I think with the popularity of EDH it will cause a sellout.  This will be just one set that would sell this. They could possibly re-release some for commander 2016.

Maybe the eldrazi popping up outside zendikar.   But I don't think it will be above 30% colorless/devoid in gatewatch. I believe this set is about the planeswalkers beating/ exile the eldrazi from zendikar.
Kinda like the scars block. Lots of mirridion in scars.  Then mostly phyrexians in new phyrexia.
