This might be a moot question, but I overheard a discussion about it, so thought I'd ask. Devoid states that the card is colorless. So would it's identity be colorless? However, you can't have {Drowner of Hope} in say, a Abzan deck, cause there's no way to produce blue mana, right?

as discussed a few weeks back.

devoid cards are colorless as far as game rules are concerned but have a color identity according to their mana cost and abilities in regard to commander concerns
Spot on. While color is a part of color identity, the two are NOT the same.
Take {bosh, iron golem}. Colorless creature, but a red color identity because of mana cost in the rules text.
