How much time am I given to sideboard in an event?

griffin131

There used to be a 3 minute rule.
They've apparently removed that below the pro level.

I ask because my friend was playing in scg standard event, and during side boarding his opponent called a judge after 2 or 3 minutes and accused my friend of slow rolling. Judge gave him a warning and I was kinda like, "what the hell?"

So slow playing is still a thing but it's up to the judges discretion. Normally they'll just give a warning to appease the angry party. But even for professionals they are no longer timed while sideboarding. They just have to do it in an efficient manner.

Did he actually call it slow rolling?? I thought that was a poker thing where you're just being a dick.
"Yeah, that three of a kind beats my two pair"
"Alrig--"
"Good thing it's actually a full house..."

Yeah you'll get kicked off a table for that crap.
But 3 minutes doesn't seem very long. I've never tried side boarding before so I don't know.

3 minutes is an awfully long time really.

Depending on the rest of the match, calling it makes sense.
