I think what everything can be boiled down to is live and let live. If what someone is doing doesn't affect you or anyone else; you have no real right to interfere. If what you are doing affects someone else, in a negative way, you shouldn't be doing it. Those who do not live and let live revoke the right to live, for who are they to remove those rights from others (take that sentence with a grain of salt, it's extreme in a variety of cases and I'm a pretty firm believer in second chances).

This is the basic philosophy that justifies the actions of my morally "right" characters in my writing.
