The mana base is a bit clunky and could use some work.

{Jace, Vryn's Prodigy}: All around very solid for two mana.

{Soulfire Grand Master}: Early game life gain chump blocker, late game recursion powerhouse.

{Monastery Mentor}: Rewards for playing the deck. Drop t5 with backup and flood the board. Might be worth cutting down as its bad early game.

9 creatures

{Narset Transcendent}: Mainly for control variants. Not bad as a damage sponge.

{Magma Spray}: {Hangarback Walker} and {Deathmist Raptor} can suck it.

{Nullify}: Heroic, creatures in general. Bit clunky with double {U}

{Anger of the Gods}: Early game sweeper. Tons of life off {Soulfire Grand Master}.

{Wild Slash}: Kills early threats, prowess triggers, to the face if necessary.

{Elspeth, Sun's Champion}: How could I not run her?

{Dissolve}: Best counter in standard.

{Negate}: Hardly any spell less decks in standard.

{Roast}: {Siege Rhino}, {Tasigur, the Golden Fang}. Burn it up.

{Lightning Strike}: Remove, to the face, more tokens.

{Ojutai's Command}: All the modes are live.

27 other spells

Sideboard

{Negate}: In vs control.

{Annul}: In vs U/R thopters. Counter that turn two {Hangarback Walker} on the draw.

{Roast}: Because {Seige Rhino}

{Narset Transcendent}: Again, control.

{Anger of the Gods}: Aggro decks.

{Disdainful Stroke}: G/R and Esper Dragons.

{Magma Spray}: Ain't no Hangarback girl.

{Scouring Sands}: Thopter tokens, mono red and white.

I feel like this deck is well positioned in the current meta and that it might be a viable deck post rotation. Also nobody else is doing it. That I've seen.

Gotta have mind swipe for flavor

I would but it's seriously so bad. I need {End Hostilities}. Wanted to make room for a {Deflecting Palm}.

Mantis is needed here it's just way too good

Nullify is just not good in here it's too much of a control card for this. It's too linear.

Why aren't you running 4 {Dig Through Times}?

I disagree. It's a hard to cast three drop that'll be less powerful than {Monastery Mentor} if the deck is working.

But it feels so damn good to counter their turn two play. I think I'll agree though.

Because... Uhm. Idk. Need to make room. Also {End Hostilities}.

I disagree with all of your {Coubters} ;) but not my deck :)

But mantis just beats down the turn its played whereas mentor gets outclassed quickly by a field of devotion or rhinos or other creatures (plus it involves other cards to make it powerful)

And dig is just too good to not be a 4 of in here. Especially with baby Jace!! I mean there's a reason why it's banned in Modern, and dominating Legacy!!

Mantis gonna be huge when bile blight is gone

If there's a field of devotion or rhinos I've already lost.

I'll agree. This needs work.

I think end hostilities would be good considering your small amount of creatures
