I have a friend who seems interested in magic and I'd like to make her a g/w deck. What are some good simple cards for teaching people how to play? (Btw she's a religious type so no demononic stuff)

G/W tokens is a solid simple deck. Most of the cards are also super cheap, and there's no demons or Devils. If you want help with a list I'm down.

That would be helpful.

Would you like me to throw together a list or just card suggestions?

Ooh I'm a pro at green white token. Stuff like raise the alarm and captain's call can help get tokens out. There's also a cheap card similar to the card (Doubling Season) that can definitely help. Some creatures to improve your tokens are (Emmara Tandris) and (Phantom General). (Twilight Drover) can also be a help when your tokens die. Although I've never used it, because I use more expensive cards, so I haven't had room for it, but (Midnight Guard) might be useful as well as it untaps whenever a creature nets the field. If you decide to add in some non token creatures in as well, (Field of Souls) or (Requiem Angel) might help as well. Although this is getting a bit more pricey(more than a dollar :P), (Elspeth, Sun's Champion) would be an excellent addition. After this your friend can spend more money adding other Elspeths and cards such as (Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite) once they get more into the game. White and Green generally don't have demons so those two colors are fine. If your friend as 35$ for something as well, From the Vault: Angels seems like something that could be for them and this deck. If you need a more throughout list of cards, I can go through the pile of cards im currently using to build my five color, but mainly green white commander deck and tell you good options for a token deck. White enchantments are generally a good idea for token decks btw so look out for stuff like (Spear of Heliod) or (Brave the Sands) that gives boosts to all your creatures, as this can make all your tokens powerful and tough creatures. Have fun and POPULATE!!!

Seems like a good idea for someone who knows what they're doing. But I'm just trying to get her started without any fancy combos or complicated creatures

Yes please

Splicer

Plz {Armada Wurm} and {advent of the wurm} I think it's called.

Codester1991

Well if it's casual all these ideas are great :) if it's competitive keep the cmc lower and go budget black white tokens :)

{Raise the alarm}
{Lingering souls}
{Spectral procession}
{Gather the townsfolk}
{intangible virtue}
{honor of the pure}
{duress}
{despise}
{timely reinforcements}
{dismember}
{zealous persecution}
More expensive cards to add
{sorin, solemn visit Other}
{hero of bladehold}
{path to exile}
{inquisition of kozilek}
{thoughtseize}

I don't think Elspeth, Sun's Champion is worth more than 5 though is she?

She's currently 6.47 I believe and I guess she'd be an okay addition. Although her mana cost is pretty high.

{Captain's Call} is another token summoner if you want a ton of those
