If the want to slow down {Griselbrand} they should ban {Goryo's Vengance}, forcing the deck to use {Footsteps of the Goryo}.

We want to slow it down not make it unplayabe

I play the deck. It needs {Nourishing Shoal}. It can afford to win via {Through the Breach}, one extra mana won't kill it.

One more mana, not having a splice cost, being a sorcery, and not giving haste will make it unplayable however.

Possibly. But I think it's doable. Idk. I just get really bad draws so I really need {Nourishing Shoal} to let me finish the combo.

It would work but it'd be unplayable bc no haste is such a huge loss also not instant speed sucks

Also it dies at end of turn therefore no damage to opponent. Kinda pointless. Sure you can draw seven and lose seven life buuuut that's pretty crappy.

It's weird how a deck emerges and then BAM. They ban a piece of it. Looking at how wizards bans the cornerstone of many decks, I believe Griselbrand will be banned next from that deck, not the other two cards or the shoal.

But he is already banned in commander

Well t1 {Lightning Bolt} + additional value every turn...or is there a combo/deck?

Draw chance of highly unlikely. Not the nastiest thing seen in Legacy.

They seem to ban cards that allow a type of deck to get cray and take up 40%+ of meta

The reason vise was banned was back in 1997, the format was way slower... Like a snail would move faster.
Nowadays, it wouldn't be as bad

I'm still fearful about it bc burn would get a lot better but Idk if it's oppressive enough to be banned
