It sucks everybody knows it. So why don't they change it????

I'm watching the Euro GP coverage with Matej Zatlkaj and Marijn Lybaert and they are great! They're informative funny and clearly know what they are talking about.

Same with SCG Coverage and Cedric Phillips and Patrick Sullivan.

I just don't get why we always have to watch BDM Hagen and Sutcliffe ruin PT matches. Sure they all seem very nice and polite but they aren't good commentators they continually make ill advised lines and constantly misread cards and it's just unprofessional.

/end rant

Anyone else agree?

That's part of the reason I don't watch much of the PT coverage... I can't stand to listen to any of them but Sutcliffe. I like listening to him much more than the other guys. Maybe I'm biased from LR, idk... I really don't like the commentating style of the other guys. What bothers me the most is how Hagen over exaggerates everything...

Kaalia with haste

Completely agree. Rashad miller man.. I'm pretty sure they got rid of him but he doesn't talk about the games at all, and seemingly doesn't understand modern or standard. There's a clip somewhere of him trying to get a floor judge to see if the infect player had blinkmoth nexus or inkmoth nexus

Hagen is on the GP Coverage now in a purple t shirt ... I know it's not supposed to be formal but still show some class

Marshall is great that's the only one I disagree with you on.
Exactly.

As for the t shirt thing Matteo, no offense, honestly who cares? It doesn't seem like a bit deal to me...

Mattao19

Tbh Marshall has gotten better I'll admit that and I do like him on LR but watching him talk about constructed was not enjoyable to me.

The tshirt thing is a very minor detail to me but it's unprofessional. I mean I watch scg live every week and Cedric Pat and the rest of the coverage team are all in nice suits and it just looks great. It makes it look like they care about their job whereas Hagen wearing a t shirt makes me believe that he doesn't care as much (even though that's probably not true)

....this isn't like ESPN or anything though. It's coverage of a game that nerdy fat kids play while eating junk food. You can't demand the same type of quality coverage from $2 million dollar players on guys who still live with mom. In fact, suits are MORE unprofessional in my eyes. ;-)

Wow, that's a narrow minded view that is totally great for the game! Maybe it's because they're trying to get away from the exact stereotype that you've portrayed here? That does not describe me. That does not describe 99% of the players I know and play with. If you and your playgroup fit that description then YOU'RE the problem. I hope you were kidding. ;-)

Mattao19

Don't you get my point though? I mean sure you don't need to wear an Armani to broadcast like Marijn wore a simple dress shirt without a tie and that's fine bc it looks professional. Maybe I'm overhyping this bc Hagen just flat out annoys the hell out of me

Mr_Fahrenheit

If anything,  be annoyed at Wizards for not having a stricter dress policy if it bothers you that much. The guys performance wouldn't change,  he might just look a bit more professional. I dont think it really matters though. Its not like hes on network television getting paid a shitload of money.

I complemented Cedric at SCG open Los Angeles earlier this year for always bringing class to tournaments.

I brought up in the past how LSV needed to wear something decent and people responded with "he's LSV he can wear whatever he wants"

Like let's take away the fact they play magic, a grown man should wear clothes that are slightly different than what they wore in high school. You're getting paid tons of money for a nerdy card game, class yourself up a notch, it's really not hard to either. Broken glasses? No belt? Don't buy that foil, fix your stuff.

Draftings only $13? A haircut is $12 get one.

Showing class by dressing up isn't expensive, it just takes like 5-10 minutes extra of prep. Unless you don't iron your nicer clothes.
