Magic: Origins (Speculation and Spoilers)

I'm not so sure that dragon is crappy man. It's at the high end of an aggro curve--I can definitely see a slightly more robust mono-red aggro deck playing this as a curve topper. In that deck it's basically {Outpost Siege} on a big-ass evasive body. The discard doesn't really matter. I'm pretty sure I'LL never play with it, but I bet it does see constructed play.

So what? I have to discard my empty hand or these extra mountains I'm holding? It's the top of an aggro or burn deck, and it seems pretty clear you don't play the card with a full grip. Someone who plays lots of red decks want to weigh in on this? I could be wrong here, but a 4/4 evasive creature that generates card advantage (essentially) for free in a color that wants it seems good to me.

That's the point it's only good if it is the last good card in your hand. Which can happen but it can be a bad draw a lot of the time

Don't play with 4. I could see 2,  maybe 3 but doubt that.

I keep looking at the spoiler list and wondering that maybe they are spoiling the crap first and saving the good stuff for the end?

Keep in mind almost all the spoiled stuff is going in the 30 card "starter" decks. The most basic of the basic.

Guys... they spoiled 30 commons....   chill out, there will be more wonderful cards. There have been no rares and only 2 mythics. There's a lot more goodies

0 standard modern and legacy play. He's a joke in those formats.

I don't think he can command his own EDH deck very well either. He seems solid in sisay though.

Anyone else feel like wizards is punishing us?

We got a peek at the prison ward dude, so they are like "today you get a whole bunch of bad and reprinted commons and uncommons, and a questionable mythic to go with" and then the next day is "well here is the rest of that card you knew about" and today its nothing...

I do feel that overall there is less coverage. Wasn't into spoiler season with M15, though. Is it usual for a core set to get less press?

If only he prevented the damage...

I can see him as a nice intimidator sitting in the command zone but that's it. It's one of those cards that I want to like but it's just..not that good.
