Doubling season with the new Narset Planeswalker would be silly.
That's the only reason I suggested her.

That's the only reason she's worth considering. Time will tell.

Her plus ability is worth it for you because you only run 8 creature plus your lands. You don't have to many dead cards

I'd rather be digging four with {Ajani, Mentor of Heroes} or minusing {Jace, Architect of Thought}. It's just not that good. If I change to {Rampant Growth} type spells she may be even better. I'm rather undecided until I playtest. Thinking I'll drop {Holy Day} and a {Kiora, the Crashing Wave} to try her. Except that Kiora is my best win condition by far...maybe drop a {Fog} and a {Holy Day}? {Gideon Jura} has been amazing for keeping me alive so far...I mean I survived 30 swinging and won after boarding out all my fogs except {Dawn Charm}. I may bump up the {Gideon Jura} numbers add some {Mana Leak}/{Remand} and drop all the {Fog} and {Holy Day}...

There are so many ways to take this deck and I wanna playtest them all!

Bump. Deck tech update soon.

Im curious, how does Gideon play in matches?

Amazing vs anything that isn't control or non-creature based combo. I previously hyped him up.

{Gideon Jura}: I was quite skeptical at first. I am no longer. He is a repeatable fog, and with {Doubling Season} and {Venser, the Soujurner} on the board my opponent has to either do 14 damage in one turn, or wait until I'm blinking him and kill me. And unless they do 12 or more damage I get to pop one if their attackers before I blink him. All this, and I can still use the 0 to beat down if I've got nothing better to do.

Even without {Doubling Season} and {Venser, the Sojourner} he's fantastic. He's part of the reason I cut the {Fog} and {Holy Day}.

How have you found this deck to work against decks heavy on hand disruption?

Usually it gets wrecked. Sometimes it can pull through but that's usually opponent error. Or really amazing top decks. Otherwise it's {Leyline of Sanctity} or bust.

Thanks, I think I'm sold on him

I think you want 4x {jace, architect of thought} since with a doubling season out you can grab whatever walker you want from your deck and whatever wincon from your opponents.  I saw an awesome Travis Woo modern doubling season deck and Jace kicked butt for him.  And I'd add {thragtusk} to the sb since he's even better with Ds.

I always read Jace as each opponent! 😱 Im super stoked to mess with that! The problem is it's very hard to make room in this deck... {Elspeth, Sun's Champion} might bite it but I love the +1 and middle ability...

{Thragtusk} would add to my very busy 5 drop slot. Not too sold on him.

Your input, as always, inspiring. Thank you!

EDIT: Could I see a link to that list?

Sure, happy to help. I can't remember the other awesome green dude he ran in the board that also makes tokens. I'll find the list and link it here.

That deck looks much more competitive than mine. So tempted to run Ugin now...might revamp soon.

So if you have  {Doubling Season} Out and play  {Narset Transcendent} It comes in with 12 counters or 6?
