Gruul DMV
Land                    Rare

Creatures enter the battlefield tapped.
Creatures do not untap at the beginning of their controller's upkeep.
When there are 8 creatures on the battlefield, destroy Gruul DMV.
When Gruul DMV is destroyed, all creatures are untapped, gain haste, and +3/+3

"Even a place as lively as Gruul, has to deal with the DMV.  They try to be patient, but eventually, everyone destroys the damn place and turns it into a fighting ring."

I like the fact that your opponent can activate it too. And the flavour text is on point.

"We've tried axes, fire, poison, and more. It grows faster then we can kill it."

Seems weird to have Indestructible too.

I added that because i wanted a "unkillable" effect to tie into how hard it is to kill an invasive species. Actually now that i think about it persist would be an much better effect. Changing the card to use that. What do you think of the mana cost? Should it be more?

Now that I think about it Indestructible makes a lot of sense. The mana cost seems reasonable.

Kaylesh

I like persist for flavor. With its etb effect it would mean he gets 1 counter to start with and never really dies, but you can weed it back.

I do too, and if you look at the quoted one verse the current version i had a cluncky bit of mechanic, to place a counter back on after being weeded down to a 0/1. Persist cleans it right up, organically. Also a persistant vine sounds better the indestructable. I also like that now it's two biggest weakness are now kill spells and counters, effects that primarily come from it's enemy colors.

LinkCelestrial

I would totally play that card.

Backlash     {1}{U}{R}

Instant

Counter target spell. Backlash deals X - 2 damage to that spells controller where X is the countered spell's converted mana cost.

"Catastrophic failure is my speciality."

I've been thinking about this for a while. I think it's badass. Inspired in part by {Essence Backlash}
