Because the opponent still keeps the board state it killed you in.  Plus there are quick removal for a five mana *adds nothing to the board state* card.  Although this can be manipulated, it is highly conditional.

Keep in mind, any "leaves the battlefield" effects trigger after resolution of the mirror's restart. Depending on what you have out, you could possibly stack a win con or board state builder and intentionally take lethal damage to trigger the mirror. It would be a cool concept.

So use stuff like {Thragtusk} to give yourself a post-death board presence. There's also that creature that Munchlax built a deck around...{Protean Hulk}? Could be cool.
