Isochron Sceptor

heres a question my little brother has. Okay I played {Isochron Sceptor} and I exiled {Shrapnal Blast}. Now when I use the Sceptors ability to copy Blast do I still have to sacrifice an artifact every time as an additional cost

You may cast the spell without paying its mana cost, but shrapnel blast says in addition to the casting you sac an artifact.

So while you don't have to pay the casting cost, the sac ability is still required.
