From a legal standpoint, put very simply, she has majorly fucked up. Since it was technically your furniture this is a crime. Tell her you'll sue if she doesn't give your stuff back and that will nearly always be enough.

Unless she has nothing to lose.

He could try taking her to civil court. Sometimes in that you pay with belongings. Plus, the prospect of a lawsuit is just a bad thing to face. Even if she has nothing to lose it should still scare her.

That is looking to be a good possibility, although going through a civil suit for the furniture would work, except the time it takes to go through the legal system I'll be staying in an empty home, plus we went to Ikea today. Thank you all very much!

First, is the contract for the house void? If it isn't, rescind the contract, void it, and then legally you will be able to get your furniture back, but if the contract is still valid she legally has the right to keep the furniture.

Is it possible she sold it for drugs? Or did she sell it to pay the mortgage? Has she communicated with you or has she just up and disappeared?
