Sarkhan's done it: he forged an alliance between the dragon clans of Tarkir, and the dragon lords have chosen him to lead them to world domination. Save the world! Mountains are dragon tokens. Attack Sarkhan and kill him to win. The dragons will defend him.

I'm in horde mode today. I made this DTK event deck from the dragons of FRF and DTK with some flavorful ones added. Rules are easy: attack and kill Sarkhan. The deck's controller will play as Sarkhan. Flip the top card each turn and play it. Attack the players as you see fit, but remember to protect yourself.
I'm still looking to play test what would be the best starting loyalty for Sarkhan, as at 4 with +1 each turn he might be underpowered.

Mana cost x loyalty = life total. How are you doing the emblem? His abilities should be usable once per turn at instant speed. No janky crap like {Unmake}ing him when he goes dragon.

Keep the prime rule in mind: don't be a jerk. Otherwise: you exile, he comes back like commander, but on battlefield. I'll make something up for it to not work.

Should I trigger the emblem, three dragons come in. Hard mode engaged.

Maybe separate his loyalty from his health. Your enemies can't attack your loyalty you just decide to build it or use it. Sounds cool.

If this is a hoard deck you don't need lands

Mountains are dragon tokens. In the notes of the main post.

The M15 prerelease had a duel with Garruk. In that duel he started with 20 loyalty and could create wolf tokens for 0. He could also +4 to give one deathtouch I believe.
He also was not considered a permanent for game rules. So could be targeted as a player, but not as a permanent.
Thing is, if you start at 20 and ult twice, that's 5 dragons each turn, plus Sarkhan. You are not gonna win that without building a deck to best him. Maybe  {Sarkhan Unbroken} would be better tailored then? (With rules in place to keep you from ulting turn 1)

Usable once at instant speed would be too op. Just turn him into an indestructible dragon when attacked, does not lose loyalty.

True. I like the idea of separating the loyalty from life. That way the "difficulty" will gradually increase.
