Notion theif and puzzle box

I have a  {Teferi's Puzzle Box} In play and my opponent has 5 cards in hand. Draw step he draws a card putting him a 6. Puzzle box goes on the stack. I flash in  {Notion Thief}. Opponent drops his original 6 and I draw 6. Next turn he draws one, drops one and I draw one.

Is this how it works or have I messed something up.

If {notion thief} is on the field before the box trigger resolves, your opponent will bottom his hand and you will draw that many cards. It won't take a turn to kick in as long as thief is there when puzzle box trigger is resolving.
