I don't know how to put it into words x) but I saw myself sleeping on the couch in the same position I had fallen asleep in, and then all of a sudden my view zoomed out really fast, and I went through space until I found the end of the universe, except the universe was another person. And THAT person was inside ANOTHER universe person, and it went on and on and on like that. And then I zoomed back in really fast and went inside myself still sleeping on the couch, and I was filled with universe people who were filled with universe people who were filled with universe people.....but the creepy thing is that all the universe people were me. It's so hard to explain.....but it was so creepy and realistic.

So like an out of body experience? Sounds cool. I've had one before.

That could be what reality is. When you zoom out far enough into space, you eventually get to what is "The Known Universe." Everything past it is black because there hasn't been enough time for the light of other universes to reach us. So, as far as we know we live in a multiverse, or infinite universes that exist next to one another. It's like our universe is an atom, and when we zoom out far enough, we're just a cluster of atoms that could potentially make up another organism. There is no limit to how much we can zoom in/out, eventually we happen to hit a different dimension of space time. Infinity.

I watched the first episode of Cosmos with a friend the other night. Your dream is basically what we thought of during that episode.

I strongly disagree with the concept of infinite universes. I also very much dislike it when "educational" shows present speculation and ideas as hard facts. There's no way with our current technology to prove that the universe is infinite. Apparently it's constantly expanding but if that's the case then it couldn't possibly be infinite. How can something with infinite measure increase in size?

Alternate universes are a poorly thought out idea that only stand due to the fact that there's no way to disprove them. Which is a fallacy and should never be accepted in any circles much less science.

Let me put this into perspective. If there are an infinite number of alternate universes, there are an infinite number of universes where every living being, every fibre, every atom, is dedicated to annihilating you. This you that is currently reading this. All of these universes have the technology to do so right now. That's just one of the concepts that infinite universes provides. There's infinite more where the only difference is that I messed up spelling difference. Where any one pixel is any of the smallest of fractions off. Do you realize how utterly and completely ridiculous this sounds?

And don't forget there's infinite everything trying to kill you right now. Well then there's infinite everything dedicated to protecting you too, right? And you've lived your whole life with no evidence of this? You don't wake up at night to be attacked by sentient tazer wielding furniture to be defended by an elite lightsaber wielding flamingo. There's no one and nothing stationing guard over you 24/7. So then you say that there are infinite universes dedicated to keeping that all under wraps. Then I say there are infinite universes dedicated to making sure you know what's going on. I can go on about this for as long as there is time, I'm only showing how absolutely absurd the idea is.

Smite is an interesting alternative to it.

Apathy Reactor

I had one of those vivid weird dream things.

The sky was green, and I was standing atop a skyscraper, which in turn was on it's own little floating island, with other buildings on other floating islands around.
So, I jumped off of course, and then I'm sort of falling through the discolored sky past floating islands with buildings and towns on them.
I'm pretty sure I woke up when I smacked into one.

Not sure these things are reliable as far as developing theories about the universe.

Well said
I'm still not quite sure where I stand as far as infinite universes go.....there are so many theories and not much science backing any of them. But it's absolutely fascinating to think about.

Astro, you clearly imply that had you still been sick you might have gone for it. "Thanks for the offer BUT I'm feeling much better now."
