my guess is he is accessing the forum via the web.  You cannot see links through the Web unless they are spelled exact.  I switched to a Droid and access the forum mostly through web

I have a android system. I use the web for it, so it didn't link the card for me, and he even personally messaged me asking for the card, so I just made sure to link it correctly. Sorry if it offends anyone. I'm not trying to be a dousche.
