Well gang, last night I got the best news of my life thus far; I have been appointed to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. I'm excited beyond words. And I'm wondering where the best shops to play me some magic in my free time are? Anyone in NY near that area?;)

Haha! It's one of the 5 service academies. I go to school free for four years in exchange for at least 5 years of service. At the Merchant Marine academy I would learn how to work on a ship and such, but when I graduate I am given the option to either join the merchant fleet and enter the naval reserve, join any branch of the armed forces, join the NOAA fleet, or go to grad school.
