Anyone else here think {Birds of paradise} needs to be printed in standard?

No. Not in any which way shape or form. {Birds of Paradise} is arguably the best mana dork ever.

Yep, Wizards, in their crusade to make standard horrible and add no good cards to any other format, has deemed that one drop mana dorks are too strong and from now on they are aiming for two mana dorks with an upside instead, see {Sylvan Caryatid} and {Whisperer of the Wilds}. (This isn't made up just so I can rant about Wizards, Mark said this himself (in different words of course)).

I mean, what's the worst it will do to the meta? Make green ramp a little more diverse?

What is everything with this time change on Tarkir effected everything in the Multiverse? Where everything got flipped upside down? Could be the Origin of an entirely new multiverse....
Just my thought

So the Lorwyn 5
Jace
Liliana
Chandra
Garruk (no longer veil cursed???)
Ajani

Wait, no, here is my thought, when they first debuted the board game last year they did not show the white walker, now is the because at the time they did not know who it was to be?
The Lorwyn 5 would make it Ajani, some speculated the return of Elspeth, but Gideon? Why Gideon????
What makes Gideon the choice for a white Walker other than the one off comment that people had trouble identifying with him because he is not human?

That is my question...

I read something on Quiet Speculation about Nissa and Gideon being in the set...they didn't go into much detail on it though. I like Gideon...

Yes, the planeswalkers are: Gideon, Jace, Liliana, Chandra, and Nissa. The art was shown on the Pro Tour and it also coordinates with the new game.

Gideon was obviously a soldier or some varation. But we don't know his back story that well... so that's why. Plus he is in the new board game so it ties in very well For marketing purposes, also... aJani has had a lot of recent support for his back story
Very good point mate! I suppose that's why they put Jace in too...

I know he's in because of marketing, but we already know everything about him! I would have much preferred {Tamiyo, the Moon Sage}, who we know nothing about!

Each of the five Planeswalkers featured in Magic Origins has an accompanying backstory, and that backstory will be told in a variety of ways.

Stories on the web: Around the release of Magic Origins, we'll publish the five official origin stories on DailyMTG.com, each one telling the tale of how those characters came to be Planeswalkers. These narratives were written by members of Magic R&D's creative team.
Magic Origins cards: You'll see cards in Magic Origins that tie to crucial moments in each Planeswalker's origin story. In addition to planeswalker cards, Planeswalker-associated spells, and legendary creatures, some cards will show glimpses of the Planeswalkers' home planes and first-planeswalk planes.
Magic Origins Prerelease boxes: There will also be quick-to-read summaries of the Planeswalkers' stories, hitting the highlights of each character's story using important Magic Origins cards, in the booklets included in your box at Magic Origins Prereleases.

So prerelease, we get to pick by color I guess.
