I feel like Fabianos got it right for burn he played 2 SB {Feed the Clans}

Also SB Negate helps :D

Disdain, bile blights, negates

Blights for mantis/Taylor swifts

Thoughtseize em, I've thoughtseized my opponents 3 turns in a row if they are Aggro (and I get a hilarious draw), sure I'm down life, but being able to disable their early Aggro and burn is very effective

Kiora early for her ramp and card advantage has proven very efficient (stops SB, Phoenix's/Keranos/eidolon of great revel)

I also let eidolon kill a burn player by only playing essential things line a courser, rather than burning myself

Getting a courser is of course key to make sure you gain life fast, especially with kiora.

I love how I told people that card is helpful and so many rolled eyes, now a pro uses it and ppl be like "pro used it"

I would say if I had more creatures, but I don't really run into life problems with this. I usually stabilize absurdly at 10-13 life. Which is why I love control, you can be at double light strike range and win if you play it right.

Ashiok their burn away ;)

Yeah i was facing a mono red who ran like 8 creeps (Monstary SS, and one other i can't rememer) and the rest were burn cards. Can't really kill his burn if it is te only thing he draws. Think i might sb the feed the clan.

How was everything else

redwolv

Most everything else i was able to handle. The few loses merely me playing badly and forgetting to do things like. counter a spell with the card in hand. That red deck was the only deck i felt truely like i lost too.

Burn is difficult
I keep having right matches with burn and g3 with them starting is always bad. Feed the clan just felt like a fog, which I would rather carry than feed. May have to throw that new fog in.

Everything else I'm dominating and stabilizing at 5 or less life. Kiora, ugin, dreams becoming the board state.

Really wish there were more large standard tournaments in la. Most are in San Diego... Do any of you normally drive more than an 75 miles to tournaments

Jlamb5

Did you go to the pptq at Shuffle n Cut this last weekend? They have them all the time.  Driving to sandy ego is far, but there's a lot of events like that in OC and in a lot of the IE

MuggyWuggy

Ugh even OC...
The SoCal group doesn't post too many things

Jlamb5

There's not a lot of "serious" players on there though. You should just go through and follow all the local stores FB pages. Expanding out of LA is gonna have to happen if you want to play in large events. DEALS doesn't run a lot of stuff?? I thought they tried to run huge events all the time.

Updated and moved sagu to SB
Moved to BB to main board
Most wont expect sagu game 2 (control midrange, mirror)
BBlight is too relevant right now with the token decks present

-2 nullify  - worked great vs Aggro, but the life gain and fog seem to be better answers for SB meta currently

+2 Feed the clan - trying this for life gain vs burn, not 100% sold yet
+2 winds of qal sisma - fog vs aggro/jeskai tokens very relevant, with tasigur on board, should be easy to get ferocious triggers
+1 monastery siege - gonna give it a chance vs burn decks and control, hard to put in main deck, but its very relevant in my USA deck MB, I may replace it with {unravel into the æther} if gods start appearing again in SB

MuggyWuggy

Finally: played a mirror match

Vs someone piloting the scg Indy/wA sultai control deck. BUG Walkers was just way more powerful. Ashiok as a 3 of has proven its worth. Side boarding was fairly easy for me vs the mirror,
Throw in maulers, remove some carytids. Let them mill themselves with their satyrs.

Codester1991

Have you ever thought about running {silumgar the drifting death} instead of Sagu? He's like late game rabblemaster kryptonite. Kills all the tokens each time he attacks and has that big butt as a big blocker, not to mention flying and hex proof. Blocks mauler in the mirror and fly right over him

MuggyWuggy

Thought about it. Currently testing still to see if he's viable for my build

It just seems id rather be at Garruk or ugin by that point in the game

As far as rabble is concerned I don't really let him hit the ground but I can see how it dominates token decks
