So we get our box of fate and my wife's asks if she can open what we call the power pack. It is traditionally the bottom pack on the left stack or the third pack down on the right stack.
I pull it for her and she plops down and opens it.

We open the rest of the box (no, not an all fetch box) and I hand her the last pack saying we got our 4 mythics and a fetch, I'm happy.

I hear these kind of stories all the time.  I had my son open a JOU single purchase pack from my LGS one time and he pulls a foil pharika and a regular keranos.

This would never happen to me.  I have hinted at cards for presents.  My wife would consider this contributing to an addict's habit....
