What's everyone's opinions on this? I've seen it a few times, and tried running it at FNM last week, but in testing there have been games I would've won with a combo but instead had to use Sigarda, who was eventually outclassed by a pair of Wurmcoils on the other side of the table. IMO it's fine but probably not worth it, anyone agree/disagree?

If your running Pod, you should run combo. It's a good midrange deck without, but I just can't see why you wouldn't.

^ I agree for the most part, but it depends on your meta. If your meta has a lot of Bolts and Paths, consider the non combo deck because its more of a "good stuff, value" deck and isn't as easy to disrupt.

A lot of the time, the combo is just an intimidation thing. Without it, you get 2 more slots and still maintain the fear of an insta win. That said, I still prefer the deck with archangel/feeder

Non combo pod is angel pod, it is a toolbox that plays a combo because there is strictly no reason not to play a searchable 2 card infinite life combo.

No, angel pod is pod without melira combo and with archangel/feeder, which is less cards, less bad cards, and way less slots. Combo less pod is just called junk/abzan pod or comboless pod.

Your opponent doesn't realize you don't have the combo though, you grind out with value cards while they are always leaving multiple mana open to deal with a non-existant problem. I still agree with you that it is better to go {Chord of Calling}--->win, but some non combo lists are doing quite well, and I won't argue with results.

@Hunter, Dimir is correct, there are decks out there that don't play any combo at all and that is what we are talking about.
