What was the first mythic/valuable card you ever pulled?

Mine was {Brimaz, King of Oreskos}.

I didn't play white, so I just said, "Who wants this dumb white card." And threw it on the table. One of my friends said, "Hey look, a thirty dollar card."

I immediately scooped it back up. Who knew a dumb cat was worth so much?

Agrus Kos, Enforcer of Truth

I didn't get anything valueable from back in the day, but when I got back into Magic, on release day I bought like 3 packs of RTR, and cracked a foil {Vraska, the Unseen} (worth $80 at the time). The two runner ups (also RTR) would be: foil {Jace, Architect of Thought} (when he was ridiculous, sadly I held on to him instead of cashing out....), and one pack in which I got DRS and a foil {Steam Vents}. RTR is the only set that I pulled good stuff from, though. I think I have opened at least 10 {Trap Essence}s from KTK...

Thetrufflehunter

First mythic was {Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius}....

First rare, and I have no idea how I remember, is {deathrite shaman}. Now I collect them. If anyone has one (or six) let me know! Ill trade for them!

Probably the first pack my wife bought me when I told her I was thinking about getting back into magic after 10 years. New Phyrexia.  {Surgical Extraction},  {Gut Shot} and foil  {Beast Within}

Popper23345

One of my first money cards was probably {brimaz king of oreskos}... But I traded for another 5 packs of BtG. I proceeded to pull two {temples of malady} the othes were junk rares :P

Cender

Back when my brother and I started, we didn't really know about the separate expansions and things. I still remember how excited he was to see a card saying "Take an extra turn" in {Temporal Manipulation}. If only we had taken better care of those cards 15 years later. The first one that really jazzed me was {Sylvan Basilisk}.

Johng4490

Planeswalker Karn. Traded him for a Lorwyn Chandra, she wasn't even foil. The guy who made the trade wasn't being a jerk though, he told me there was a notable value difference, but at the time I had no intention of collecting much magic. 3 years later...

Next best was one day, two Elesh Norn and one was foil. :)

The1337Magician

Since I rarely buy packs, my first pulled mythic was a {Ajani, Mentor of Heroes}. That went into a Commander deck straight away.
I then later got a foil Brainstorm from a Conspiracy draft and I sacrificed my third pack first pick for value :-)

MuggyWuggy

Probably several sylvan libraries or force of wills

Munchlax

Back when I started I opened up an Emmy with a foil Kozilek. I traded them both away... What a fool I was.

LinkCelestrial

First mythic was {Giant Adephage}. Not so valuable.

First value was {Thundermaw Hellkite} when it was $20. Didn't manage to sell it. Eventually traded it for a {Darksteel Colossus}.

MtgCollector1337

First mythic was {Voice of Resurgence} back when I started and played Selesnya tokens.

Still have it? I've been looking for one.

My first mythic was {Uril, the Miststalker}. I had a real casual boner for him for a while. Then after a few years' break I discovered EDH.

My first valuable card? Pack foil {Venser, the Sojourner} back when Scars was pretty damn new. Casual me didn't know cards were worth money, so I never traded it. Seeing that he's worth $20 now even after the Duel Decks printing, I always wonder how much he was worth back then.

At least casual me had the sense to protect Venser. I still have him in my Derevi deck, and he's in great shape.
