Soul conduit?

Ok so playing edh game and opponent has a  {Soul Conduit} and a  {Platinum Angel} and a negative life total then attempts the swap to eliminate me so I in response a {Recoil} on the platinum angel  would he be dead b4 the stack gets to the switch of life totals?

You would win. After the Recoil resolves, the angel goes back into his hand. Then, the {soul conduit}'s ability is up next on the stack, but as soon as priority is passed (as it is passed before each item on the stack resolves), he loses the game.

104.3b: If a player's life total is 0 or less, he or she loses the game the next time a player would receive priority. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)

Ok I thought so bc a judge resided in his favor for some reason and I lost my mind over the decision
